CCI Business Lockdown Impact Survey Result

CCIWA’s lockdown survey have helped build a stronger case for more support from the WA Government. The survey results below, show that the recent lockdown had a much harsher cost than the ANZAC Day long weekend lockdown, with the average WA business losing $26,864, or $6716 per day. The State Government’s commitment of $3000 compensation grants to WA businesses impacted by the lockdown is welcomed. It is a notable step up from the compensation offered in April, and has been secured by survey responses to CCI's rapid-fire survey, which informed the Government’s approach.

Critically, the Government has heeded the call to include impacted regional businesses.

More than 15,400 businesses in Perth and Peel and 2300 businesses in regional WA may be eligible for the program. Businesses must be able to prove losses incurred for perishable goods, cancellations or other unforeseen costs or demonstrate at least a 30 per cent reduction in revenue as a result of the lockdown.

Applications open on July 19 with grant payments expected to commence by the end of the month.
