The Southern Seafood Producers (WA) Association (SSPWA) is a not-for-profit incorporated association representing commercial fishers and associated industry stakeholders, primarily located in the southwest and southern coasts of Western Australia.
Position Overview
The association is seeking a motivated individual to join our organisation in a casual administrative role. SSPWA operates under a committee that aims to advocate for its members and the commercial fishing industry in WA.
Flexibility and the ability to work independently while managing timelines and workloads is essential. In exchange, you will have the opportunity to work within an organisation undertaking various roles and functions, providing a diverse working environment for the successful candidate.

Position Requirements
The successful candidate must be available to work on a casual basis commencing late May 2025, predominantly from your home office on set days. Your application should address both essential and desirable criteria. Depending on the workload, hours range from 6 to 10 hours each week. Remuneration is monthly. The commencing hourly rate is $35, with a review upon your 3-month performance appraisal.
Essential Criteria:
· Strong ability to undertake a range of administrative activities related to the day-to- day running of a small office, including budgeting, accounts, bank reconciliation, member liaison, ATO and Incorporated Associations obligations.
· Accurate written communication skills, including correspondence, reports, policy and governance documents, social media, website content, and data entry.
· Highly effective verbal communication skills for telephone, face-to-face interactions, and at meetings.
· Excellent organizational skills for meeting preparation, including AGM protocols, minute taking, recording, reporting and following up on action items.
· Ability to plan, prioritize, and work independently.
· Proficiency in operating software platforms including: Microsoft Office suite,
PDF documents, database management, presentations and online meetings.
· Customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate, timely advice to internal and external stakeholders.
· Availability for occasional WA regional travel including overnight stays.
· Valid WA driver's license.
· Legal eligibility to work in Australia (evidence required).
· Current police clearance.
Desirable Criteria:
· Knowledge of the commercial seafood industry in WA.
· Initiative in problem-solving.
· Ability to assist with specific projects.
· Experience in small regional event management.
