EMAIL: New management plan review for South Coast will allow fishing between 1/6/2021 & 1/7/2021

From: Shane Walters Sent: Wednesday, 8 July 2020 10:18 AM To: Don Nicholls Cc: Angus Callander; Tim Nicholas; Clinton Syers; Subject: RE: [EXT] - FW: SOUTH COAST LINE AND FISH TRAP FISHERY OUTCOMES OF THE STATUTORY CONSULTATION MEETINGS 2020

Changes to the two new management plans as a result of the outcomes of consultation have now been drafted.

The management plans currently include commencement and implementation dates as per the ICU update sent to eligible fishers on 2 July 2020.

The management plans are currently undergoing an internal (legal) review process prior to being provided to the Minister for Fisheries for his consideration and approval.

The management plans will allow fishing to continue between the implementation date and commencement date.

The earlier implementation date (for licensing purposes) allows the Department to process licence applications in preparation for the commencement of the plan (at which point a relevant managed fishery licence is required to continue to fish in the fishery).

Kind regards
