Westport Project Update # 17 – now available.
The Westport Taskforce is developing a plan to manage WA's growing freight demands for the next 50 years and beyond. The Taskforce is holistically assessing a wide range of port and supply chain options, while balancing environmental, economic and social outcomes. Westport has released its shortlist of the 5 best options, all of which include a new port in Kwinana.
Westport is now assessing the shortlist with the recommendations to be presented to Government for consideration in early 2020. A priority now for Westport is identifying ways to ensure the valuable marine environment of Cockburn Sound is preserved for future generations. Westport is also working to determine when the Inner Harbour, with its road and rail links, will reach capacity. An important read for the latest information relating the Cockburn Sound project.
This and previous updates are available on the Westport Website.
